Prana
A shared interest in 20th century designer George Nakashima was a one catalyst to the founding of Square Roots in 2008. He was one of the fathers of the American craft movement and is famous for his use of large timber slabs with unfinished edges and butterfly joints.
The Prana designs use wide boards of free edge oak with the lighter sapwood edges intact. Panels of blackened steel are set within the opposing natural edged boards that form the drawers the sturdy headboards are have maple wood butterfly joints to brace the wide slabs.
We believe that Mr Nakashima would approve.
