Made only for China with wood from managed European oak forests, our Root & Branch furniture marries a real respect for the materials we work with to imaginative, eclectic design. Our pieces are rich in British character and individuality, perfectly contemporary but always timeless.

British individuality in every piece

Because we work with nature, and not against it, no two Root & Branch pieces are identical. The grain of the wood, the patina of the finish, the colouration of solid brass – all of these features vary from piece to piece. That means everything we make is an individual as we are, and you are.

“Our British design heritage runs like a seam through all our root & branch furniture”

— Ed Stoddart, R&B founder

Designed by History

Our Root & Branch furniture is the product of a long and rich British design heritage. From the shimmering oak forests of Sherwood; the engineers of the industrial revolution; to the cabinet maker, Thomas Chippendale. Eclectic British sensibility, style and skill is a feature of all our work.

& Deeply Rooted

There are many copies of Root & Branch furniture. We see this copying as a symbol of our success. Yet the only symbol that matters is our maker’s mark – the Root & Branch ‘&’ embedded into every piece of furniture we make. It reflects the deeply rooted culture that underpins Root & Branch.

If the ‘&’ is not there, it’s not us.

Our maker's mark
