We are manufacturers based in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, supplying a diverse collection of products across the retail and contract market. We have a passion for what we design and make, for the people we work with and the environment around us.

Square Roots is an alliance between two individuals who bring together in depth expertise in furniture design and making, along with a commitment to service and efficiency born of many years experience in the furniture industry.

Justin Wheatcroft In 1998 established Indochine House, a Hanoi based retail furniture brand, In 2003 founded Tori furniture, a manufacturing company supplying European retail clients and International Hotel and apartment projects within Vietnam. His UK company Solid Handmade distributes contemporary solid wood furniture in Europe. Passionate about the natural beauty of timber one of many influences is the designer George Nakashima.

Edward Stoddart Began his career apprenticed to a restorer and cabinet maker in London in 1990. He went on to work as production manager for David Salmon Furniture in London. In 1995 Edward was invited to Vietnam to develop a high-end interior range of furniture for Julian Chichester Designs. He then became the furniture designer and buyer for the UK retail chain Lombok. His talent for design and finishing help create distinctive products with a level of quality seldom seen in Asia.

Together Edward and Justin have been lucky enough to build a dynamic and skilled team of Vietnamese managers and technicians to operate the Square Roots factory. A dedicated QC department also allows outsourcing amongst the community of local manufacturers which affords a great diversity of materials and a flexible production capacity.

At Square Roots we believe that life is more than just work, a balance of fun and recreation is essential and we strive to ensure that, at all times we make a positive impact on the wonderful country that is Viet Nam. An awareness of humanitarian and environmental concerns help guide the business and achieve pride and enjoyment in what we do.
